Inscribed in the stone

This series is dedicated to traditional construction, especially in stone. I’ve worked for some time in one of the last cathedrals builders’ guild, in which stonemasons, sculptors, carpenters and blacksmiths still use traditional techniques, which have been transmitted from master to apprentice for several hundreds years now.

I’ve deep respect and admiration for those people, and this series is a kind of tribute to them and to their work.

While most of the other series are homogeneous in composition and forms, this one is composed with more diversified elements, as the illustration of the stonework can take many shape, from the work itself to the representation of the greater masters to the trace it left in the stone.
